Advertising Partners
How we work with advertising platforms: what they may receive, the technologies involved, and your choices.

Who We work with
We advertise on social media platforms, search engines and other advertising networks. We and these platforms use the activity described below to measure how Our advertisements perform and to help show them to people likely to be interested, including people who have visited Our shop. The platforms We use change over time; every one of them is covered by the data limits and choices on this page.
What an advertising platform may receive
- commerce activity: viewing a product, starting a book, completing a preview, adding a book to the basket, starting checkout, placing an order
- order value, currency and order reference
- an event identifier used to match the browser and server reports of the same action
- Your email address and customer identifier in hashed form
- IP address and browser user agent
- the platform's own Cookie identifiers, including a click identifier when You arrive from one of its advertisements
- the pages You view on Our home, storybook and product pages, with the page and product details on them; on other pages, at most the page address without its query string
We never send a child's name, age, photographs, interests, story or book, or anything else about a Character, to an advertising platform.
Technologies
- advertising pixels and tags in Your browser, loaded directly or through Google Tag Manager, which may set the platform's own Cookies
- server connections from Us to a platform, which report the same activity without Your browser
These technologies never run on Our checkout, sign-in, email verification or unsubscribe pages. We delete the IP address, user agent and platform Cookie identifiers We keep for advertising 30 days after We store them.
Your choice applies to every platform
In Our United Kingdom shop, advertising technologies run only after You accept advertising in Our cookie banner or Your privacy choices. In Our United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand shops they run unless You opt out there. They never run if Your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, and for a signed-in customer only when their saved choice allows it. Switch advertising off once and it is off for every platform; You do not need to opt out with each one.
