You upload a clear photo of the hero and choose a story. We draw them once in that book’s house style and ask whether it looks like them. If it doesn’t, we can draw it again twice, or you can send a different photo. Only after you say yes do we illustrate the pages, into a story written by people. You read the whole book free and approve it before anything is printed.
Their name, their age band, three things they love, and who else is in the book. You can edit the words on any page while you’re making the book, and change the cover text and the dedication right up until you order it.

A look inside

The workshop was a blizzard of elves, hammering and painting and wrapping and humming carols slightly out of tune. On the end of a bench, Ruby found a present all about dinosaurs, with a tag in Santa's own writing. It pointed to the stables. Can you find Ruby among the elves?

The hoof marks ran along the roofs of the street, round a chimney pot and back again, and stopped at one chimney in particular. It was Ruby's own. Ruby leaned over and peered down into the dark. From far below came a snore so loud it rattled the soot.

In the morning, the presents were under the tree. The armchair still had a Santa-sized dent in it. On the mantel was a small envelope, and Ruby kept it secret. 'To the best finder in the world,' it said, 'from a very grateful, slightly sleepy friend.'

About this story
Santa has gone missing on Christmas Eve, and a letter arrives for the best finder the elves know. Through the workshop, the stables and the post room, the hero follows the clues all the way home, and on the busiest pages readers can hunt for them among the elves.
The hero is drawn into all thirteen spreads, told at their reading level: 2–4, 4–6 or 6–8. Add a brother or sister and two things they love, and those favourite things turn into clues along the way.
