You’ll see their illustrated character before the story is made. You can try another drawing or upload a different photo before approving it. You also see every page before you pay.
You upload a clear photo of the hero and choose a story. We draw them once in that book’s house style and ask whether it looks like them. If it doesn’t, we can draw it again twice, or you can send a different photo. Only after you say yes do we illustrate the pages, into a story written by people. You read the whole book free and approve it before anything is printed.

A look inside

Nia was digging for worms, which is serious work, when the spade went clunk. Worms do not go clunk. Nia brushed away the soil, and there it was: an egg, speckled, warm and roughly the size of a watermelon.

In the morning there was a crack, then a crunch, then a very small sneeze. Out of the shell climbed a dinosaur no bigger than a cat, wearing a piece of eggshell like a hat. Nia named it Pebble. Pebble seemed to approve.

Beyond the hills, in a misty green valley, the big dinosaurs were waiting. Pebble looked at them, then back at Nia. It gave one enormous, slightly slobbery hug, and dropped a small speckled stone into Nia's hand, to keep.

About this story
A clunk in the garden, a speckled egg, and by morning a tiny dinosaur called Pebble. Pebble eats broccoli, goes to show-and-tell and hides in the wardrobe, until the wardrobe will not shut and the hero has to work out how to get a very big friend home.
The hero is drawn into all thirteen spreads, told at their reading level: 2–4, 4–6 or 6–8. Add a brother or sister, a pet and two things they love, and each one finds its way into the adventure.
