You’ll see their illustrated character before the story is made. You can try another drawing or upload a different photo before approving it. You also see every page before you pay.
You upload a clear photo of the hero and choose a story. We draw them once in that book’s house style and ask whether it looks like them. If it doesn’t, we can draw it again twice, or you can send a different photo. Only after you say yes do we illustrate the pages, into a story written by people. You read the whole book free and approve it before anything is printed.
Their name, their age band, three things they love, and who else is in the book. You can edit the words on any page while you’re making the book, and change the cover text and the dedication right up until you order it.
Yes. See every page, edit the story’s words, and change the cover text and dedication before you pay. Once you place your order, the book is final and we can’t make changes.

A look inside

The cereal went soft in the bowl. Maya pushed it from one side to the other. Toast was out of the question.

Then Maya saw what the other child was stuck on. It was dinosaurs. And Maya knew a very great deal about dinosaurs.

In the afternoon Maya made something out of paper and far too much paint. It turned out to be good, and other people came over to look.

About this story
The uniform has been ready since Tuesday. Your child has been awake since five. This is the story of the day that follows: the gate they walk through on their own, the peg with their own picture above it, the carpet they sit at the back of, and the corner of the playground where another child is stuck on the one thing your child happens to know everything about. They come home at a run, holding a painting, with a friend waving from the gate.
Your child is drawn into all thirteen spreads, and the story is told at their reading level: 2–4, 4–6 or 6–8. Add a brother or sister, a pet and three things they love — the first one is what the new friendship is built on.
